FBBB Team Rider Andy Nudds is a formidable opponent against anyone when it comes to snowboarding competitions, he consistently steps it up again and again further pushing the boundaries of his own abilities. Recently Nuddsy was in Hintertux and stuck a double cork after only 3 attempts! We catch up with him and ask how best to go about learning this seemingly ultimate trick to throw down in your comp run.

How long had you been practicing before you landed your first one?
I tried a couple of front doubles in powder over the last few seasons but never landed any.

Where were you when you first stomped it?
I was in Hintertux, planning to try a switch Back double but it was quite late in the day and I didn’t feel too confident that I would have the right speed because of the slush. Then Dom Harrington dropped in before me on the kicker line and threw a massive back Double 10 this got my so stoked and I was like f**k it i’m gonna go for it. Dropped in straight aired the first jump to get as much speed as possible and went for it. The first 2 tries I over rotated and slid then the 3rd attempt I slowed the rotation down and came round perfect and rode away.


What tricks or abilities should you already have in your bag to make this trick easier to achieve?
You should definitely at least be able to stomp a corked front 7 before you attemp this trick. I would recommend trying a few in powder first too so that you can get used to the feeling of going upside down twice.


Any hints for those following in your footsteps to help them out?
Have a few goes on a powder kicker to get used to the going upside down twice, practice corked front 7′s with the same grab that you would go for in the double, make sure you have the right speed on a trick like this because you don’t want to toe edge the knuckle when you come round from the second dip. That could be very painfull. So again do a few front 7′s first and make sure you have the speed right. Also keep your self tucked up because the g force from this trick will force your legs to push away from your body and this will mess the whole thing up so hold on to that grab.
