Love Life

The LOVE LIFE PROJECT  has been created by a small group of commited friends. We are motivated and passionate individuals with one sole aim. TO GIVE BACK!!
Our inspiration stems from the recent London riots. Having seen the lack of direction & support given to our young people we are going to host an event, which gives to charities/groups who do!!

All funds raised on the day will go to following charities:
“THE OK CLUB” are a youth club who provide a wide range of social and educational programmes for young people based in south Kilburn.
The second charity is CENTRE POINT. This well established charity give young people the stable base they need to start a future through housing, emotional support, learning and health.

Caxton Press

‘Straight Outta’ Caxton’ is not a phrase that the legendary William Caxton would have uttered in 1476 when he set up the first printing press in England, 500 years before rap and hip hop seeped from the underbelly of New York and into the public consciousness. Yet had the great man been around today, he would have surely have allowed himself a wry smile upon hearing Caxton Press, a new hip-hop group named after his innovation.

The original Caxton Press printed over 100 books under the stewardship of Caxton, including Chaucer’s ‘Canterbury Tales‘, a collection of truthful and satirical tales of life in the towns, hamlets and pubs of England. Picking up this mantle of truth and ignoring the status quo and themes of contemporary hip hop, Caxton Press have spent a year tweaking their extraordinary debut album, Shame the Devil, 70 minutes of gold that puts its hands up, balls its fists and screams ‘no more’ in pursuit of the truth that is buried deep underneath the murky haze of modern life.

The title is taken from Walter Lipman’s quote “There can be no higher law in journalism than to tell the truth and to shame the devil – remain detached from the great”, which should further the belief that this is no ordinary group. Made up of three rappers (Manage, Kingpin and eMCee Killa), a singer/ rapper (Amy True), producer (Profound) and DJ Snuff, Caxton Press are a collaborative effort who all contribute uniquely to a sound that is as varied as it is pure.

From ‘The Press, a powerful description of the group’s mantra, to ‘Mug Shot‘, a portrait of the pressures of everyday living, this is music that cannot be slept on. This is music that innovates, creates, asks and extricates. This is music for now. This is the music you need.

If you’re still not convinced of why you should join the Caxton Press family, then the album‘s closing statement should tip you over the edge… “You the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness. You the people have the power to make life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy let’s use that power, let us all unite”

Fauna News

Our girl Fauna’s been very busy of late, not letting the FREEZING temperatures get in the way of her spray, she’s been working closely with international art company Windsor and Newton, On a special top secret product, which has finally had exposure in a recent launch in Germany. She’s been testing a brand new spraypaint product, offically under the liquitex range, its non-toxic and water based, extremely versitle to use and will be offically released in America within the next month and in June 2012 for the UK.

She’s been commissioned to create 2 murals at the Windsor and Newton Liquitex headquarters, aswell as a large canvas for their launch in germany. they’ll be up on her site very soon.

Speaking of her site, it’s just had a re-vamp and some of her work that is not exhibited in galleries currently will be available for purchase on there.

After finishing artworks for Windsor And Newton, she showcased the canvas at the PUB SCRAWL event which Mckee Gallery organised in Sheffield… It was a big hit and you may have noticed it on BBC News. There were 10 different artists featuring work in 10 locations. She had her own venue at the Frog and Parrot which was again very succesful, and sold lots of prints over the course of the evening and also donated some to  Sheffield Childrens Hospital Charity.

Her  Autumn was extremely busy,  both her and Rocket01 have been tied up in some extremely fun projects.. One of which was a exciting commission for Converse in November, she painted the largest Bird she has ever painted in my life ! on a 27 meter high wall in central manchester Which also turned out to be the largest mural ever painted in Manchester, and possibily even in Yorkshire or the North!  it was Great fun and Converse made a fun video of the process of the wall!

You can read all about it and watch a video here.

During Summer 2011, Fauna and Rocket spent some time in San Fransisco painting some great walls and touring around the mission – Where the famous Mural Alleys have been regular painted for decades.

Another exciting event she was invited to paint at in May 2011, was the Sand Sea Spray event in Blackpool organised by Robin Ross. She collaborated on a wall with an Artist from London known as Snik
The wall is titled ‘ Madonna of the Goldfinch
